Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD) has been researched and developed by Sally Kay, and has shown to achieve amazing results with sufferers of lymphoedema.
Reflexology Lymph Drainage is a specialist reflexology technique that is deeply relaxing whilst at the same time stimulating specific lymphatic reflexes on the feet. It helps with the management of secondary lymphoedema, occurring from the treatment of breast cancer.
Over time, there can be a significant reduction in the fluid of the affected limb and a reduction of further fluid build-up.
Lymph is usually moved around the body by the massaging effect of the surrounding muscles as we move, but if lymph vessels and nodes are damaged or perhaps an abnormal development of the lymphatic system, there can then be an increase in fluid in the body tissues, that may lead to lymphoedema.
Below you can read Sally Kay’s case studies in which you can really SEE the difference that RLD makes: Reflexology Lymph Drainage Case Study (Sally Kay)
To date,RLD has had great results in people with primary and secondary lymphedema and RLD may be used in a similar way to Manual Lymphatic drainage. Published research shows the results of RLD performed on clients are ‘highly significant’.
RLD may also be beneficial to people who have the following conditions:
|Chronic fatigue||Jet lag||Muscular Aches and pains|
